Agile Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Agile Project Manager is responsible for documenting process and technology changes in an agile environment and expertly advising and guiding clients during identification, prioritization, analysis, and resolution of challenges adversely affecting operating performance, with emphasis on the financial close process and financial & management reporting. In this role, the PM adds value by applying their understanding of the client’s business, financial analysis, process improvement, and information technology. Success is achieved by helping clients create innovative solutions that maximize operating performance, including the deployment and configuration of Business Process Management (BPM) solutions. The Agile Project Manager continuously enhances interactions between end users, sponsors, and internal team members by actively facilitating communication, assisting with project management, including PMO reporting and status activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your Role on the Team

·         Be an agile role model - coach and mentor the team as needed to reach their highest potential

·         Organize and facilitate the Scrum Process

·         Plan, manage and communicate goals, schedules, dependencies, procedures, and tasks

·         Assist in planning and managing releases

·         Ensure successful completion of sprints within scope, budget, time and quality parameters

·         Manage development activities performed on-site, and potentially off-shore and integration with 3rd party providers

·         Work with the Product Owners to understand strategic priorities and make sure the most important work is getting done

·         Develop, manage and report key metrics to communicate sprint health and overall progress

Process Assessments: – the Agile Project manager will use the agile project methodology to help clients develop a structured approach to creating solutions with sustainable benefits. The Project Manager will apply the following techniques:

·         Client interviews

·         Gap analysis & ROI

·         Deliverable documentation

·         Change management

Required Competencies and Characteristics:

·         4 years of Scrum Master experience, at least 1 year as Scrum Master over multiple concurrent teams

·         Certified SCRUM Master or PMI-ACP with solid project management and team leadership abilities

·         Proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies.

·         Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, practices, rules, and tools

·         Experience in Agile SCRUM and conventional project management, implementation/management, E-Commerce, and front end and back end applications development management

·         Knowledge of the full SDLC, including various methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile SCRUM

·         Experience in business process analysis, requirements definition and risk management

·         Experience with Kanban

·         Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills

·         Ability to multi-task, manage priorities and mentor/direct others

·         Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals

·         Naturally accountable and responsible

·         Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

·         Bachelor’s degree (technical degree a plus) or combination of relevant education and experience

·         Experience working in an agile environment

·         Project management certificate a plus, PMP ideal.

·         Strong business acumen and experience

·         Consulting background a plus

·         Experience in Consulting on medium to large scale systems implementations, process reengineering, or other project-oriented work

·         Experience in managing and improving performance of operational and financial processes in a back-office environment

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in overall minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0. The willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed is also required.
